Common questions

Is this real-money poker?

No. The daily puzzle is education only. There are no bets, no accounts and no real-money gambling.

Why the rule of 2 and 4?

It is a quick, well-known estimate: multiply your outs by 2 with one card to come, or by 4 when you will see two more cards. It is close enough to make good decisions at the table.

What does this have to do with medicine?

I use poker math to teach deciding under pressure with incomplete information, the same skill emergency medicine demands. It is the heart of my decision-making keynote.
